Clashes between security forces and terrorists took place in Srinagar’s Harwan area on Sunday, marking the latest in a series of attacks witnessed by Jammu and Kashmir in recent weeks.
Shots were fired at around 09:00 in the forest area between Dachigam and the upper area of ​​Nishat when there was an operation to search for cables after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. No injuries have been reported so far.
“A joint operation of police and security forces was launched in the Zabarwan forest area of ​​Srinagar based on some intelligence about the presence of terrorists. An exchange of fire took place during the operation. More details will follow,” Jammu and Kashmir said on Twitter.
Jammu and Kashmir has seen many gunfights and terrorist attacks in recent weeks, resulting in the death of several terrorists and security personnel.
On Saturday, terrorists were killed and two to three others were detained in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore. The soldiers were on a mission to hunt down the terrorists and fired at them. In the retaliatory firing, one of the terrorists was killed.
