College football Week 6 is here!
Like last year, we will be doing weekly selection posts and have gambling show.
As always, I look forward to sharing with you my best football betting and gambling nuggets (Bear Bytes) throughout the season.
So, if you’re looking to throw a few bucks down on some big games, I’ve got you covered.
Let’s have fun and, hopefully, make some money.
Here are my favorite week 6 quotes.
Record
Last week: 1-5
Season: 10-19
(All times ET)
Saturday, October 5
Wake Forest @ NC State (noon, CW Network)
NC State got a win against NIU last week but had just 171 yards, plus-4 in turnovers and zero touchdowns. Wake is 1-3, but its two losses were decided by a combined four points against similarly skilled teams in Virginia and UL Lafayette. You can hold out hope for six here as well, as I think you can see one.
PICK: Wake Forest (+5.5) to lose by under 5.5 points, or win outright
Iowa @No. 3 State of Ohio (3:30 p.m., CBS)
Iowa is tied with the last three ranked teams against them, and if the Hawks stay here, they are not equipped to come back. Ohio State has players all over the place, and the Buckeyes will put on a big number before the game in Autzen next week.
PICK: Ohio State (-19.5) to win by more than 19.5 points
Auburn @Number 5 Georgia (3:30 p.m., ABC)
Auburn’s offense is a comedy show full of turnovers right now, and against a feisty Georgia side, I don’t expect it to end well for the Tigers. In the last seven games against Georgia without Jordan-Hare, Auburn has scored four touchdowns. Will they really hit two here?
PICK: Auburn team complete Under 13.5 points
No. 23 In Indiana @ In the northwest (3:30 p.m., BTN)
The Northwest Passage is a brutal watch, but my boy Sammy P says he has to watch the wind off Lake Michigan this week. It should take a while. That could seriously disrupt the Hoosiers’ passing game on this temporary field, which doesn’t offer much protection from the elements.
PICK: Under 42 points scored by both teams combined
No. 4 Tennessee @ Arkansas (7:30 p.m., ABC)
Arkansas was easily defeated. The Razorbacks had no business losing in Stillwater, and dropped a close one to A&M last week. If the Hogs can protect Taylon Green, there’s a chance he could stay here. I look forward to seeing the Vols come off a bye week with an emotional win at Oklahoma where the offense slowed down the season. I would love to have 14 out, but deadlines are deadlines.
PICK: Arkansas (+13.5) to lose by less than 13.5 points, or win outright
No. 11 USC @ Minnesota (7:30 p.m., BTN)
I don’t expect this to be easy for the Trojans, as Penn State will be available next week and Lincoln Riley’s teams have struggled in the role of road favorites. The Gophers don’t have much to offer offensively, but I think they can get some pressure on Miller Moss and keep things moving for SC’s offense. Kind of regret not catching the nine when it was there earlier in the week.
PICK: Less than 51 points scored by both teams combined
CFB Week 6 Betting Tips: USC vs. Minnesota, Georgia Tech vs. Duke, more
Duke @ Georgia Tech (8pm, ACC Network)
Duke is 5-0, but the Blue Devils have had some challenges. They had two overtime wins at Northwestern, a five-point win against UConn and a 20-point comeback against North Carolina. So, in the end, the coin will flip the other way. Tech has been on a roll since the loss at Louisville, where the score didn’t do justice to how close that game was. I slept 7 earlier in the week, and as long as it’s under 10, I’ll still feel good about the Jackets putting up a big number here.
PICK: Georgia Tech (-9) to win by more than 9 points
THE UNDERDOGS WILL PLAY ON MONEYLINE
Syracuse +200
Wake Forest +180
Minnesota +260
