The cause of death has not been disclosed.
The actor was best known for playing Mike Corbin from 1995 to 2010 on the ABC series. He also played a character in Port Charles from 1997 to 2000. And among his credits is a role as Dr. Roger Coleridge Ryan’s hope from 1975 to 1989 and continued Search for the future.
During her career, Hale was nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards for her role Ryan’s hope.
To social media, Days of Our Lives star Billy Warlock, who played Frankie Brady, shared a tribute to the late actor.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have lost another great,” Warlock wrote via X on Wednesday, October 3. “My dear friend Ron Hale has passed away. Ron was incredibly talented and an even better friend. I will miss you.”
General Hospital‘s Jon Lindstromwho plays Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamberlain in the soap, shared Warlock’s post and offered his condolences.
“I sympathize with Billy a lot. I loved the guy,” Lindstrom wrote on X an hour after Warlock’s post. “He was someone I could count on to appear on High Lonesome or another appearance. Always support. My favorite memory was sitting with him on the LA/NY flight w/ Richard Simmons in front of us. Yes, we all had a blast! RIP #RonHale.”
In 2010, Hale spoke to him We love Soaps about moving away from his General Hospital gig to pursue other interests.
“It’s been 45 years since I took my one suitcase out of New York City and went to my first class at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts,” he told the outlet at the time. “I have been very blessed with my career. No one appreciates you more than me. But that requires hard work and dedication.”
Hale added that she is looking forward to leaving the soap world behind and leaning towards entertainment.
“I’m not saying I’m burnt out, it’s time for me to move on,” he continued. “The years are passing by, and I still have a lot of energy. I love to travel, I love to play golf, I’d love to go out with a mini tractor and pull up half an acre of land and plant it and watch things grow. It hurts a lot, but I can make it happen.”
According to his statement, Hale is survived by his nieces and nephews, Lori Brown, Max Brabham, Erin Wilson and Marc Brown.
