Johannesburg – A man of Pakistani origin has been arrested along with his wife and two others who are suspected of living illegally with fake websites for the past six years, the police said on Monday.

According to preliminary investigation, his wife is from Bangladesh and they were in Dhaka, where they got married.

The couple reportedly arrived in Delhi in 2014 and later moved to Bengaluru in 2018. The other two arrested are his sons-in-law. They were arrested following an attack in Jigani on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday.

“Our inspector from Jigani investigated the matter and registered a case. Four people from one family were living here illegally with the help of forged documents. Now, a case has been registered and those four people are being investigated. Based on the result of the interrogation, we will take further action,” said the police chief.

They have been living in Jigani’s house for six years, and they are said to have received identity cards with fake names.

The police are investigating the man about the network and its activities.

“We have collected information about them and we are investigating the case. They were moving goods to the garage, but that must be investigated,” he said.

When asked about the “fainting” of their house, the police officer said: “It is part of the investigation.” Talking to reporters here, Home Minister G Parameshwara said they are being investigated.

“How did they come? Why did they all come? All this will be investigated. If they were in India for the last 10 years… if this is true why can’t the Intelligence Agencies trace them? They even went to the extent of getting (Indian) passport… in that case (getting) Aadhaar is nothing for them. They changed their names and were running the restaurant,” said Parameshwara.
