Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase are reported to have not always seen eye to eye, always clashing. The National Lampoons actor eventually threw in the towel, and Harmon was heard joining the cast and crew to shout “f*** you, Chevy” during the star’s farewell ceremony in a leaked recording.
This may have been the first of many that NBC had with Harmon, which led to his firing by NBC before the start of the fourth season. Community Season 4 suffered without its creator. The characters even refer to it later in the series as the era of the gas leak, as everyone would rather forget it ever existed.
