The annual meeting of the council of the Integrated Rural Technology Center (IRTC) held at Mundur, near here, on Saturday decided to intensify the work related to the project “Participation of the ecosystem – an initiative to deal with climate and reduce the impact of climate change in Palakkad area. Western Ghats, Kerala”.
This project was jointly prepared by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD); Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE); and IRTC.
The meeting also decided to study the impact of climate change on the recent disaster in Wayanad.
IRTC chairman TK Meerabhai presided over the event. Director NK Sasidharan Pillai presented the annual report. Registrar A. Raghavan presented the annual account.
Kerala Sasthra Sahitya Parishad (KSSP) general secretary PV Divakaran, PK Raveendran, KV Thomas, Ajaykumar Varma, B. Ramesh, N. Santhakumari, Mubarak Sani, KS Narayanankutty, Juna PS, P. Muraleedhran, E. Vilasini, and P. Narayana, and P. Narayana spoke.
KK Seethalakshmi has been appointed as the research director of IRTC.
