Paatil lays the foundation stone of five borewells


Union Jal Shakti minister CR Paatil laid the foundation stone of five bottles of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University on Friday. Recharging of more than 200 borewells in an area of ​​210 hectares in this university will be done through the collaboration of private and public companies.

In this event, the Union Minister explained the importance of rainwater harvesting to the people of Surat as part of the Prime Minister’s ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign and urged them to build borewells in their homes and residences to store water.

Calling “Jalsanchay” (water reservoir) a public participation program, he said that with the help of the government, joint efforts of citizens, local organizations and industries, the problem of water scarcity can be completely overcome in the coming years. .

The minister said that at least 1 lakh water can be saved by making a borehole in each house or near the house, which would be useful for daily water consumption.

Along with rainwater harvesting, he called for more trees to be planted under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.
