It’s that time of the year when I turn to my best man – and I meet friends in every way – to help me learn the stars want that there is no end to the child: the best gift. One friend wrote a text, “Tools and Gear” (where Tools? what Gear, I beg you!), and the other replied, “Not socks until they ask.” Still, this year’s kala yelation feels like a one-stop shop for all kinds of men.
Because, similar to buying parents, people can be, should say, – hard. And if it’s not hard, – very expensive. (The aforementioned “gear” can be anything from a new computer in the car.) But here’s what we often look for when we’re hunting for gifts for her: men are good to play. They are literally children at Christmas, excited about a new toy and excited to open it up.
So ask yourself: What makes him feel like a child again? Maybe a reread The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (and then up for an extended edition – again). Maybe it’s shrinking in the garage, building something from nothing. Maybe put on in the morning, considering who wants to put together that day.
It can be found on the golf course, watching football with the family, or when he picks up a tool and gets lost for a while. The truth is, people who love their lives more than we give them credit for right can help them live those stories a little (so, I have to agree with my friend: not socks).
With nothing else going on, our 2025 gift guide for her is meant to inspire fun, play, and, most of all, make her feel seen and loved this holiday season.
