The British man was killed in the HIT-Run travel stage that included a car during the Meni President Wilyam Ruto.
The man, called 79-year-old Edgar Charles Frederick, died on Thursday after being beaten in a highway in Nairobi.
Police arrested the driver, which has been released on bail.
They were driving a support car as part of the Convoy of the President Refoy.
Police spokesman Michael Diari told BBC that Mr. Frederick visited Kenyekerik to visit Kenya to see her sister and nephew.

Police said the driver, who failed to stop after the incident, would appear in the court.
