A long time DWTS judge, 56, he told Entertainment Weekly in an interview published on Wednesday, September 25, that he was “surprised by his words when asked what he learned by being on the show, and said flatly, ‘Nothing.’ That was not only wasting the opportunity given to him, by his good and supportive partner Ezra [Sosa] in his first season, but also for all of us who work on the show – from the dancers to the behind the scenes to the creative team.
He added, “We are all making an effort to give him a fair chance.” But I don’t think he saw that and it’s a shame. A little gratitude would have changed the story.”
It’s only fitting that Delvey, 33, – one of the longest-running contestants in the show’s 19-year history – left the dance floor in such a dramatic way.
“I knew she was going to say something amazing and the most important thing is Anna Delvey coming out,” Sosa, 23, he told More after getting the boot on Tuesday, September 24. “Yes, you should. More often. We expected nothing less from him.”
After seconds the results were called, DWTS the hostel Julianne Hough asked Delvey what he would say remove from his experience in the show. “Nothing,” Delvey replied while Sosa shook his head and smiled.

In the first episode of season 33, Inaba asked viewers to give the convicted felon a chance after his dance performance appeared to receive a lukewarm reception.
“I think our audience did what felt right to them,” he said Entertainment Weekly. “And the beauty of DWTS to our fans. Our fans are passionate and active and vote for who they want to win the Mirrorball trophy. But I would like to point out something important. Our fans don’t vote for people. That’s not our format. In contrast A survivor we don’t vote for the people. Our fans vote for those who want to win.”
Earlier this week, Sosa Delvey burst into tears with TikTok follows heavy criticism from DWTS alum Maks Chmerkovskiywho called him a “professional liar” and a “s—-y dancer.” Sosa found Delvey crying in the bathroom because of the hate she received online.
In Tuesday’s interview no MoreSosa said Delvey apologized to him for cutting short his first season as a professional.
“I was like, ‘No, don’t apologize. I’m here for you, this is your journey,’” she told the outlet. “I’m sorry, like, ‘I’m sorry I couldn’t keep up with you.'”
The ABCs Dancing with the Stars resumes its run with episodes airing Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8, at 8 pm Eastern.
