During the Chiefs NFL Divisional play off game against the Houston Texans on Saturday, January 18, Wayne, 42, took X and shared his feelings about Kelce’s team.
“I hate azz chiefs,” the rapper wrote.
Next, Wayne added, “It’s not even fun when you cheat and you’re clearly trying to cheat. Just win baby.”
The rapper – who is a well-known football fan and die-hard fan of the Green Bay Packers, in particular – was talking about the story that has followed the Chiefs all season: that the NFL referees treated the Super defensive back well. Jason then reads the text he wrote in response to Wayne, defending Kelce and the Chiefs from cheating charges.
“Literally people will see this—like this and say, ‘Yes, just as I thought.’ Refs vs. Texans,’” Jason said. “Bro the Texans left the playoffs the best in the playoffs for four quarters but the Chiefs needed those calls.”
Travis laughed out loud and said, “They did. They left me naked.”
The tight end had 117 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Texans’ 23-14 victory, which earned them a trip to the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills.
When asked to give his response to the game manager, two controversial calls on the passer against the Texans, Travis chose to “plead the fifth.”
Mahomes, 29, addressed the management dispute during an interview with 96.5 The Fan on Tuesday, January 21.
“I’ve learned that no matter what happens during the game, something will come up, so if you win, keep winning, so I don’t believe that,” said Mahomes. “I mean, obviously I’ve been on both sides of how I felt about the calls, but at the end of the day, guys, those guys are doing everything they can to make the best calls and when the players make the plays in the game. And that is what determines the outcome.”
He added, “And obviously there was a call here or there that people disagreed with, but at the same time, I think there were a lot of plays that decided the outcome of that football game.”
As for the beating allegations, Mahomes admitted that there was some evidence.
“I can say that the only one that I feel like I did too much was the one on the sideline where I didn’t get the flag and the referee saw it and didn’t throw the flag, I understood quickly, too. know that maybe I shouldn’t have done that,” Mahomes said.
