The New England Revolution signed free agent defenseman Wyatt Omsberg to a one-year contract Tuesday with a 2026 club option.
Financial terms were not disclosed by the group.
“As a defender in our league, Wyatt brings MLS experience behind him,” said Revolution head coach Caleb Porter. “Wyatt also brings additional depth to our middle linebacker group. I look forward to working with Wyatt and integrating him into our team in the coming weeks as we prepare to begin the 2025 season.”
Omsberg, 29, played in 12 games (11 starts) last season with the Chicago Fire.
The Maine native recorded one goal and one assist in 67 games (47 starts) with Minnesota United and the Fire. He was selected in the first round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by Minnesota out of Dartmouth College.
“Wyatt Omsberg is a welcome addition to our back line, with seven seasons of experience in Major League Soccer and ties to the New England area,” said Revolution athletic director Curt Onalfo. “Wyatt will help strengthen our middle defense, which is an area of our roster we are looking to improve this season.”
The Revolution will begin the season on February 22 at Nashville SC.
