An 8-year-old girl died of a suspected cardiac arrest after falling in the lobby of a school in Ahmedabad on Friday morning.
In the CCTV footage, the girl, who is a student of Class 3 at Zebar School in Ahmedabad, is seen walking in the lobby before becoming upset and sitting on a bench. He is seen with his hand on his chest before sitting on the bench.
After a while, he collapses, after which several teachers nearby rush to help him. The teachers tried to give the girl CPR and rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
According to the principal Sharmistha Sinha, the girl had no health problems before. However, he appeared unwell on Friday and sat on a bench in the school lobby when he collapsed.
Sinha said the girl was having trouble breathing, after which she was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, where she was pronounced dead.
The police sent the girl’s body for an autopsy and started an investigation. Preliminary results suggest cardiac arrest as the cause of death.
The girl’s parents lived in Mumbai, and she lived with her grandparents in Ahmedabad.
