The NBA season is approaching its midpoint.
The Boston Celtics became NBA champions for the 18th time at the end of last season, after eliminating the Dallas Mavericks in five games in the 2024 NBA Finals.
But the road to another championship won’t be a cakewalk, with a number of true contenders in both conferences.

Let’s check in with Jason McIntyre for more options coming from Nov. 12.
New York Knicks: +1000 (at pick time)
A few weeks into the season, the Knicks odds have mysteriously dropped from +725 to +1000. I have to hold that. The Knicks have two new starters, and two guys who played minutes off the bench who weren’t on the team last year. Unlike the Celtics, it’s a bunch of new faces. And they still have two key rotation elements to be healthy (Precious Achiuwa, Mitchell Robinson). If they are strong, this team will be a real problem for the Celtics.
Denver Nuggets: +1100 (at pick time)
I look at the value, and because the Nuggets were +750, but the market is selling them off because of a slow start, sure, I’ll take the team with the biggest guy in the league. The Nuggets started 0-2, Nikola Jokic decided to do everything for the team because this situation is not acceptable. Jokic now leads the Nuggets in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. But more importantly, Michael Malone seems to embrace the younger guys, and if he’s going to play Peyton Watson and Julian Strawther for 20-plus minutes a night, that’s a game. big sign forward.
Milwaukee Bucks: +3000 (during selection)
I didn’t like the Bucks coming into this season, and it quickly turned sour. Guard play has been poor – Ryan Rollins and AJ Green have started at guard recently; these aren’t the most versatile guys in the NBA – and injuries are a problem. But if you’re looking for a silver lining, go with Giannis Antetokounmpo. Perfect storm situation: Khris Middleton is back healthy and back to close to his old self; Gary Trent Jr. you become the star everyone thought you would be in high school; Andre Jackson, a former standout at UConn, is emerging as the talent he is expected to be.
