Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley channel ‘The Substance’ at the Golden Globes


Something stars Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley shared the stage at the 82nd Golden Globes on Sunday, a fate their on-screen characters will no longer know.

Presenting the award for Best Television Male Actor – Drama Series (which was Shogun Hiroyuki Sanada’s star went home), the two entered a competitive rivalry for their characters, Elizabeth Sparkle and Sue, from Coralie Fargeat’s body horror smash.

“What are you doing here?” Moore asked Qualley from behind the microphone.

“What do you mean, what am I doing here, Demi?” Qualley replied.

Both Moore and Qualley were both nominated in their respective sports Somethingwith Moore winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress – Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy. They are two of the film’s five Golden Globes nominees, including Best Screenplay — Motion Picture, Best Director – Motion Picture, and Best Picture – Musical/Comedy.

In Fargeat’s intense, daring, and shocking film, Moore plays an ’80s star aerobic workout show host who uses a commercially available and packaged biological chemical to get a “better version” of herself. The titular substance results in the appearance of Sue (Qualley), and the deal is that each person spends a week, not working a week, existing as if the other does not. But Sue has… plans.
