Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, who was sitting on sticks to press the demand for cancellation of BPSC examination, was arrested by the Patna police in an early morning campaign incident on Monday.
According to sources, Kishor was “forcibly removed” from Patna’s Gandhi Maidan and taken to AIIMS in an ambulance by the police. A video shared by news agency ANI shows senior Patna police officers forcibly removing Kishor from the strike area amid protests from his supporters.
The founder of Jan Suraaj died early on Thursday, January 2, to press the demand for the cancellation of the 70th combined examination (preliminary) conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on December 13.
However, the BPSC has ordered a re-examination of a group of candidates who had appeared in the December 13 exams, where allegations of question paper leaks have arisen. The re-examination was on Saturday at 22 centers here.
The re-examination took place at 22 centers in Patna. Out of a total of 12,012 students, about 8,111 want to get their admit cards. However, 5,943 students appeared for the examination again on Saturday, January 4.
The re-examination was conducted peacefully in all the centers without any report of misconduct or irregularities, BPSC said in a statement issued on Saturday.
