Special Courts for Land Grabbing Prohibition chairman and former HC judge BA Patil emphasized the need for law students to develop their research skills and acquire multi-disciplinary knowledge to succeed in their chosen fields.
He was inaugurating the 10th National Moot Court Competition organized by the Karnataka State Law University at its Hubballi campus on Saturday.
Justice BA Patil urged law students to take physical exercise seriously as this will help them sharpen their analytical skills, refresh their knowledge, cultivate patience and make sound decisions. He said opportunities have increased for students with law degrees and people have realized the importance of the legal profession.
Presiding over the opening ceremony, KSLU Vice-Chancellor C. Basavaraju said that there has been a lot of progress in the field of advocacy, and recent trends show that there is a large influx of legal professionals.
Professor Basavaraju said there is a need to reorganize society to ensure that cultural practices are respected. He urged students to be honest, acquire skills, language skills, knowledge and communication skills.
Registrars Anuradha Vastrad and Prof.Ratna R. Bharamagoudar, syndicate member H. Belagali were there. Around 100 law students from over 28 law colleges from across Karnataka and Goa, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh participated in the event.
