Devon Toews scored 48 seconds into overtime, and the Colorado Avalanche rallied to beat the Buffalo Sabers 6-5 in Denver on Thursday night and extend their winning streak to six games.
Jonathan Drouin sent the game into overtime when he scored with 7.7 seconds left. Toews also had two assists, Cale Makar had two goals, Mikko Rantanen and Drouin each had a goal and an assist, Ross Colton had a goal and Nathan MacKinnon had three assists for Colorado.
The Avalanche won despite losing goalkeeper Scott Wedgewood to injury. JT Miller scored one of the shootout goals as Vancouver beat host Seattle for just its second win in the last seven games (2-2-3).
Max Sasson, Conor Garland and Tyler Myers scored for the Canucks, and Thatcher Demko stopped 11 of 12 shots before leaving in the second half after suffering what appeared to be a lower back injury in a collision with teammate Noah Juulsen. Kevin Lankinen came in making 13 saves on 15 shots.
Matty Beniers and Vince Dunn each had a goal and an assist and Chandler Stephenson scored again for Seattle, which came away with two wins. Philipp Grubauer, making his third straight start for injured Joey Daccord (upper body), stopped 19 of 22 attempts.
Hurricanes 3, Panthers 1
Jaccob Slavin scored with 7:30 left to break a tie and lift Carolina over Florida in Sunrise, Fla., avenging two upset losses from last month.

Matt Boldy scored in the second round of the shootout to lift visiting Minnesota over Washington.
