Anthony Sassano, an independent Ethereum educator, angel investor, consultant, and founder of Daily Gwei, shared his Ethereum predictions for 2025 with X, detailing a series of milestones and developments he expects to unveil this year.
Ethereum Predictions 2025
Ethereum will celebrate its 10th birthday this year and Sassano predicts that Ether (ETH) will reach a value of $15,000 by the end of 2025. He expects significant growth in institutional investment, predicting that ETH Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) will see net inflows. more than 50 billion dollars throughout the year. Additionally, he expects that the ETH stakes will be filed and get approval from the Trump administration which will greatly increase the demand.
Further expanding his Ethereum predictions, Sassano sees an increase in large Traditional Finance (TradFi) companies and institutions building on them. “Big TradFi companies/institutions are starting to build on Ethereum,” he predicts, adding, “BlackRock (and partners) are launching a layer 2 RWA platform with a token on Ethereum.”
Government adoption is a prominent factor in Sassano’s Ethereum forecast, as he expects more countries to display ETH holdings as part of their treasury assets. “Many nations are revealing that they hold ETH as a treasury asset,” Sassano said.
On the technical side, he predicts the release of the Pectra upgrade in March or April 2025, “with some blobs and after that, the blobs will be full again.” This will be followed by Fusaka’s development in 2026, which he believes will be “the biggest Ethereum development ever.” He also expects the gas limit of the mainnet to increase to at least 50 million by the end of the year, facilitating the passage of transactions and expansion.
Sassano’s Ethereum predictions also include significant improvements in Layer 2 (L2) solutions. He expects the most efficient L2s like MegaETH and Rise to launch, surpassing the existing efficient Layer 1 (L1) networks in terms of efficiency and adoption. In addition, he expects Arbitrum One to be the first major rollup to reach stage 2 of the classification, with many other rollups reaching stage 1.
In addition to these developments, Sassano predicts that Base will branch out from Coinbase and announce tokens and power distribution systems. It would make a lot of sense for it to logically outsource to its team (while still having the same support of Coinbase) – it gives them more freedom, flexibility and independence without worrying too much about regulations and potential bureaucracy in-house. “
He also foresees that the supported rollup will enter the top five as measured by Total Value Locked (TVL), and the most optimistic rollup will shift to the zk rollup.
Infrastructure development remains a key factor in Sassano’s Ethereum forecast. He expects the total amount of ETH deposited in L2s to exceed 10 million, improving the stability and efficiency of the network. In addition, Sassano projects AI agents will remain the leading meta in 2025.
Concluding his Ethereum predictions, Sassano expressed strong confidence in the future of ETH. “Ethereum will be 10 years old in 2025 and I am very confident that this year will be the best year for Ethereum! Ethereum is a global computer; ETH is money,” he said.
At press time, ETH traded at $3,415.
