Chaos broke out on New Year’s Eve at Uttar Pradesh’s upscale Club Bella in Kanpur after three women accused the bar owner of raping them and dragging them to the bathroom.
According to these women, when they protested, the dispute turned violent.
In a video circulating online, one of the women can be seen bleeding from her hand, while another clip shows the bar owner fleeing the scene in his Mercedes as police look on.
The women filed a complaint at the local police station, complaining of being molested and beaten. The police have confirmed that they have received complaints from both parties and said that action will be taken following the medical examination.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the full details of the incident.
