While 41-year-old Dulquer Salmaan has appeared in only two films – King of Kotha again Lucky Bhaskar – and had a cameo role Kalki 2898 AD between 2023 and 2024, his father, the 73-year-old Malayalam legend Mammootty, launched six films: Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, Christopher, Kannur group, Kaathal – The Core, Bramayugam again Turbowithout extended access Abraham Ozler. While Dulquer’s limited pace is in line with current trends among actors, he recently admitted that Mammootty thinks he should do more work.
During a recent appearance on the Rana Daggubati Show, Dulquer spoke about his father’s incredible career pace. “He finishes films, goes on a trip, comes back, finishes another film and repeats.” Joining him on the show was his Lucky Bhaskar co-star Meenakshi Chaudhary, who added, “While we were working on our film, Mammootty was cast three or four times.” Actor Sita Ramam laughed, “I think three or four films came out at that time and he worked on three or four more at the same time.”

When Meenakshi asked about Mammootty’s thoughts on Dulquer’s slow pace, he revealed, “He thinks I should work harder. We spend a lot of time talking, filming and editing. He doesn’t understand all that. He’s like, ‘You do your job, hang up and start the next project. Then line up the next one.’”
After the massive success of Lucky Bhaskar, Dulquer Salmaan is currently wrapping up two projects: director Selvamani Selvaraj’s Kaantha and Pavan Sadineni’s Aakasam Lo Oka Tara. Kaantha marks his first collaboration with Rana Daggubati, both stars are co-producing the film. Meanwhile, Dulquer will share the screen with Sai Pallavi in Aakasam Lo Oka Tara.

On the other hand, Mammootty is gearing up for the release of Deeno Dennis. They will stop and Gautham Vasudev Menon’s first Malayalam film Dominic and the Women’s Fund. He is also working on an ambitious project by soon-to-be CU director Mahesh Narayanan, titled MMMMwhich will see Mammootty and Mohanlal reuniting on screen after 16 years. The film also stars Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara in pivotal roles.
