High-tension wire falls on law student in UP, victim dies on the spot | Lucknow news

A final year law student died after a power line fell on him while he was returning home on his motorcycle in Hardoi on Saturday. The motorcycle of the deceased was also burnt in this incident.

The deceased has been identified as Anupam Mishra, 24. According to reports, locals tried to rescue the deceased but he died on the spot.

Angered by this massacre, the people of this area protested and demanded action against the officials of the electricity department for failing to close the bad call.

The agitation was brought to an end after an FIR was registered at the Atrauli police station against a senior engineer, a sub-division officer, and a junior engineer of the power department on charges of culpable homicide. The case was filed based on the complaint of the deceased’s brother, Uttam Mishra.

The victim was returning after an examination when suddenly a strong wire broke and fell on his car. He died, said Satyendra Singh, Circle Officer, Hardoi.

He went on to say that at the moment no one has been arrested in this case.
