The Pourakarmikas who are busy day and night demanding the fulfillment of their various demands organized a three-day mock funeral of the municipal commissioner in Hubballi on Saturday to register their protest against the failure of the municipal commissioner to implement the decisions passed. through the municipal council.
Meanwhile, the ongoing agitation by the porikarmikas for their demands, including suspension of regular services, entered the 18th day here on Saturday.
The protesters staged a mock funeral ritual for the third day saying that the Municipal Commissioner Eshwar Ullagaddi failed to implement the orders of the State government, the District Commissioner Safai Karmachari, the orders of the Deputy Commissioner and the resolutions passed by the Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Council.
They said that by not implementing the instructions and instructions, the municipal commissioner has disgraced the elected body.
Addressing the protesters, the regional president of pourakarmika association Vijay Guntral urged the Mayor of Hubballi-Dharwad to take legal action against the municipal commissioner for his failure to implement the decisions of the municipal council.
He said the porakarmikas are denied their rights and facilities which denial is punishable under the provisions of the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989.
He urged the Joint Director of the Department of Social Affairs to register a case against the municipal commissioner under this Act. Labor Minister Santosh Lad also failed to protect the exploitation of workers in his district, he said.
