Vas and Ricci first crossed paths as teenagers, and later fell in love as adults. They tied the knot in September 2023 – shortly after both of their parents got married.
Vas and Ricci know that their love story is unusual, but they are not bothered by any criticism.
“Honestly, it doesn’t matter because we love each other,” Vas told Australia’s news.com.au in November 2024. “I don’t really read our comment section, but when I do, I just laugh. We find trolls very entertaining. If something is really bad, we may respond, we find that it is a good disarmament strategy.”
The following month, Vas gave birth to the couple’s first child, a girl.
“Our Christmas miracle has finally arrived 🤍,” the shared Instagram post read on Dec. 25, 2024. “Merry Christmas from our family to yours 🎄.”

“We were about 13 years old when we first met through mutual friends,” said Vas news.com.au in 2024. “Our families got to know each other and introduced us, I guess you could say. So we’ve known each other for a long time.”
