North India saw dense fog and severe cold waves on Thursday while Srinagar recorded a low of 7.3 degrees Celsius on Christmas Day. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to dense fog in Delhi-NCR region on December 26.
Meanwhile, the Delhi airport has issued an advisory, stating that no flights have been affected due to the fog, much to the relief of fliers. Normal visibility at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 7 am was 500 meters.
Visibility has reduced to 75 meters on runways and CAT-III operations are underway.
Temperatures are expected to drop significantly from December 27 as the weather turns colder on December 29, reported news agency PTI, citing leading meteorologists.
