Tamil Nadu BJP state president K Annamalai has weighed in on the political controversy surrounding National Award winning actor Allu Arjun. Speaking to the media in Chennai, Annamalai slammed Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and pointed out that the Congress-led government in the state is harassing the actor.
“I think he (Revanth Reddy) is trying to compete as to who is the star in Telangana. He is trying to show that he is a bigger star than Allu Arjun. Right now, too, he is acting in the Congress, he is the leading actor in Telangana,” said Annamalai, addressing the Chief Minister of Telangana.
The BJP leader sympathized with the actor and condemned the attack on his house in Hyderabad. “The people who came created chaos, threw stones (at Allu Arjun’s house), among them there are two-three from his (Revanth Reddy) area,” said Annamalai.
Calling it a “politically motivated” controversy, Annamalai said that in any crime, what matters is the intent. “Did Allu Arjun have any intention or intention regarding the death that happened? Did he intend for someone to die?”
The BJP leader also alleged that Revanth Reddy was partial to the actor. “After the episode, the way CM Revanth talked about Allu Arjun, I can only see his hatred for Allu Arjun. There is no bias,” he said.
The state BJP chief also commented on the controversy surrounding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Christmas celebration.
“People want to politicize everything. PM is for everyone in this country. When the PM goes out to celebrate Christmas, it is a good sign. The PM is trying to bring everyone together. If some people write these letters against the PM celebrating the festival, it shows how much opposition can divide people based on religion,” he said.
