Minister of Agriculture N. Cheluvarayaswamy on Saturday said that Bengaluru will host the International Millet Festival on January 23, 24 and 25. As a prelude to the main event, Krishi Mela and Millet Mela will be organized in all districts.
Speaking after inaugurating the Millet Walk (Siridhanya Nadige) organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, he described millets as “healthy food” and said the State government is encouraging the cultivation of millet crops.
At the Millet Festival in Bengaluru, nationally and internationally renowned experts, people from the millet industry, and technology that supports millet cultivation will meet and participate in discussions aimed at promoting millet on a large scale.
The Minister urged farmers to participate in discussions and use the suggestions of experts to grow healthy food in their fields.
Meanwhile, Mandya will be in charge of the Millet Mela next month, said the Minister. He urged people to support the department’s programs.
Describing the 87th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana event as a “historic” event and Mandya had not organized such a big program in the past, he said that people have given their feedback and expressed happiness over the way the government has taken steps to organize the event. grand sammelana, and visitors from different parts of the Kingdom filled the meeting of books.
