The New Jersey mayor calls out White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby for his latest comments about the White House. so-called drones flying through US airspace.
“That’s ridiculous. I would have invited Mr. Kirby to Mine Hill. Come on, Mr. Kirby, we went out one night at about 9:30, 10:00,” Mine Hill Township Mayor Sam Morris told ABC News. Thursday.
“Mr. Kirby just lied to the security people at Picatinny Arsenal, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, and the New Jersey State Police,” he explained on “The Evening Edit” on Friday.

Kirby said Thursday that a number of alleged drone sightings in New Jersey in the past few weeks appeared to be test flights.
“At this time we have no evidence that these reported drone incidents pose a threat to national security or are dangerous to the public, or are related to other countries,” Kirby told reporters at a press conference at the White House. “The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are investigating these sightings, and are working closely with state and local law enforcement to provide resources using multiple methods of discovery to better understand their origins.”

“Using the most sophisticated electronic detection technology provided by federal authorities, we have been unable, and neither have state or local law enforcement, to confirm any reported sightings,” he said. “On the contrary, when reviewing the available images, it appears that most of the sightings are actually manned aircraft operating legally. The United States Coast Guard provides support to the state of New Jersey, and has confirmed that there is no evidence of any foreign-based involvement from coastal vessels and importantly, no drone sightings have been reported or confirmed in any restricted airspace.
Morris said he did not understand why Mr. Kirby said that all three of those organizations are not telling the truth,” saying that it seems that the White House does not want to “deal with” this situation.
DRONE MYSTERY LOOKS FOR NEW JERSEY OFFICERS, INSPIRES CITIZENS
The drones were first reported on November 18, and have been seen every night since, flying from dusk to about 11 p.m. Reports range from four to 180 each night, according to New Jersey assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia, who passed a briefing given by. law enforcement officers.
More than three weeks after the batch so-called drones first appeared in the night sky of New Jersey, the public has not been given a clear understanding of what this object actually is.

Lawmakers and experts have expressed many opinions about drone sightings, but Morris thought the drone’s mystery could be “advertising to the public.”
“There’s a big, big part of me that thinks this is some kind of advertisement,” he told FOX Business’ Elizabeth MacDonald. “Part of me thinks it might be some kind of military contract that wants to publicize their drones. They might be some high-tech company or something that they think impresses people. “
Morris also addressed the issue of the possibility of an outside organization using mysterious drones.
“If this was trying to harm us, and people are very afraid of that, I believe they would do it, and they would do it secretly,” he concluded.
