A security guard was injured when the BBMP park gate fell

In another such incident, a 40-year-old security guard was injured after falling over the gate at Tulsi Tota Park near Majestic on Thursday. The security guard who received minor head injuries was treated at a nearby private hospital after he was rushed there by local people. A senior BBMP official said the injured was treated as an outpatient and is now at home.

The injured person, identified as Prabhakar, was opening the gate in the afternoon around 3 pm to allow the garbage collection machine to enter the park and the gate collapsed while opening it. The official said that the BBMP has issued an order to investigate the incident. The injured is a resident of Srirampura

It will be recalled that in September, an 11-year-old boy was killed after a gate fell on him at Raja Shankar Park also known as Kulla Park in Malleshwaram. The boy was playing in the park when the incident happened. The BBMP later repaired the gate.

A BBMP official said that at Tulsi Tota park, the bars and hooks of the gate were damaged when a tree branch fell on the gate a few months ago. However, this was not brought to the notice of the BBMP. The official said that BBMP Special Commissioner (Horticulture), Preeti Gehlot has directed the officials to submit a complete report in this regard.
