With a strong focus on improving multi-domain combat readiness and operational readiness, the Air Force’s Western Command held a two-day Commanders’ Summit from December 6 to 7 in New Delhi.
Chaired by the Chief of Air Staff (COAS), Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, the conference aims to align the strategic objectives of the Air Force with its vision of self-reliance and combat effectiveness.
During the conference, Air Force Chief Singh reiterated the importance of this year’s theme, “Bharatiya Vayu Sena – Sashakt, Saksham, Atmanirbhar” (Indian Air Force – Empowered, Corable, Self-Reliant). He urged the commanders to focus on skills development and authentic training programs to ensure readiness for future challenges.
The Air Force chief also emphasized the need to achieve progress in areas such as increasing operational capacity through better training and planning and early deployment of newly installed equipment, safety and security, and developing leaders by empowering people at all levels. turning it into a future-proof and integrated force.
A PRINCIPAL DISCUSSION ON MULTI-DOMAIN WARFARE
The conference prioritized advanced training programs, emphasizing the need for realistic, multi-domain scenarios to ensure combat readiness, use new equipment and accelerate the implementation and use of advanced programs.
Senior IAF officials emphasized on leadership empowerment, developing leaders at all levels to create a unified, future-ready force, and strengthening policies to maintain operational safety and mission success.
Air Force Chief AP Singh also praised the Western Air Command’s quick response capabilities, especially during Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations, and highlighted the need to emphasize the military’s core values ​​of ‘Mission, Integrity, and Excellence’.
As the conference ended, Air Marshal PM Sinha, the chief of the Western Air Command, confirmed the officers’ commitment to face emerging challenges and develop their role as an integral part of the country’s defense.
The Western Air Command is the largest command of the Indian Air Force with 16 Air Force bases, responsible for air defense in northern India, which includes New Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir.
