Elyse Jankowski/FilmMagicJoan Vassos again Chock ChappleThe first family vacation since they got engaged went off without a hitch!
“It went really well,” Chock, 60, said to himself Us Weekly on Friday, December 6, on iHeartRadio 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball.
Joan, 61, and Chock spent Thanksgiving with their children separately from previous relationships. They got engaged in the first season of The Golden Bacheloretteaired earlier this fall.
“I felt a sense of dread that we, all of a sudden, were bringing everyone together. The holidays are kind of stressful,” Joan recalls Us on Friday. “And introducing, ‘Here’s your new family, here’s your new brothers and sisters, here’s me in his children’s life and Chock in my children’s life’ can be uncomfortable.”
He added, “But from the first night, it went well. We went out to dinner. Our kids left us and they were like, ‘Yeah, we’re going to the bars later,’ and we went home and left our kids outside. We were very lucky. Our children got along very well.”
Now that The Golden Bachelorette aired, Joan and Chock enjoy learning new things about each other as their romance comes to light.
“Joan is just a good person. “He has a lot of friends, and he takes care of them, and he cares about them,” said Chock. “She is a good grandmother, she is a person who loves everything, and we are very happy together. He’s a little luckier than me, so we’re a good team. You drive like an F1 race car driver!”

Joan, for her part, likes the way Chock balances fatherhood with his professional life.
“I’m happy that he was the main parent in his children’s lives from a very young age, and he had a very successful business, so that’s a lot of work,” she said. “He is a good father and a good provider.”
Chock replied, “It was good. We are truly blessed.”
Joan and Chock currently split time between their hometowns in Maryland and Kansas. They also have plans to move to New York City together — in addition to making up for their fellow Bachelor Nation alumni.
“Well, we were working on making a match,” Joan said Us. “We have a lot of guys [from my season] and we have been working to match them [with the women from The Golden Bachelor]. Surprisingly, Chuck is a really good partner. I started it, now you are at work.”
He added, “We were together last night and we were driving the boys and talking to the girls. Things have gone.”
Joan and Chock also promote the “golden” version of the Bachelor in Paradise.
“I think we could be bartenders or counselors or something,” he joked. “I must say that many of the boys who came out of my season have met girls. I think they have this new confidence, and they are very popular. I am happy for them, but I am afraid that we will be inferior people.”
The iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour special airs on ABC on Wednesday, December 18 at 8 pm ET and will be streamed the next day on Hulu.
