Virat Kohli’s picture is splashed across the front pages of leading Australian media as the Indian team arrives for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting on November 22 in Perth.
The Daily Telegraph has a huge photo of Kohli with the Hindi caption, “Yugon ki Ladai” (Fighting for the Ages), which captures the gravity of the upcoming series. The Herald Sun also features Kohli with a summary of his career stats in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, as well as a full back page story on the anticipated Indian schedule.
While Kohli graces the front pages, Yashasvi Jaiswal graces the back pages. The Herald Sun devotes an entire page to Jaiswal with the headline in English and Punjabi: “New King.” The Daily Telegraph labeled Jaiswal as India’s most aggressive opener since Virender Sehwag in the wide format.
