Delhi Air Quality ‘Severe’ in Several Areas, Mumbai AQI Improves But Smog Covers Both Cities

Smog continues to linger in Delhi and Mumbai on Tuesday as both cities suffer from air pollution at this time of the year.

Delhi and Mumbai saw a slight improvement in the overall air quality on Tuesday morning, however, several places in the national capital persisted with ‘Severe’ air with AQI scores above 400.

Delhi’s AQI was 335 compared to Mumbai’s 147, according to Central Pollution Control Board data at 7am today. This point has increased to 418 in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area. Other areas that have seen ‘Severe’ air quality are Anand Vihar, and Rohini.

At 4 pm on Monday, the air quality index in Delhi was 352 (Very Poor) while in Mumbai, it was 152 (Moderate).

However, both cities continued to be filled with smoke in the early hours of the morning, making visibility difficult and causing problems for residents.
