JMM releases manifesto, promises 33% jobs for women

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Monday (November 12, 2024) released its manifesto for the Assembly elections promising 33% reservation for women in State government jobs.

The manifesto, launched by party supremo Shibu Soren, focuses on nine sectors, including agriculture, education and civil rights.

The release of the document coincided with the last day of campaigning for the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly polls.

“Our manifesto promises 33% reservation for women in all State government jobs. It focuses on nine points,” said party spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya.

The manifesto also assured the people that they will provide loans up to Rs 5 crore to MSME entrepreneurs under the Credit Guarantee Scheme.

It promised to waive the debts of small and medium traders without setting up high-level sports institutes in all categories and a sports university in the State.

Promising to guarantee agricultural loans at 0 percent interest rate, JMM also assured the people that they will provide subsidy from the government fund to increase the minimum wage of MGNREGA workers to R350 per day.

The manifesto promised to establish 500 CM schools at the block level and 4,500 model schools at the panchayat level, besides establishing 100 nursing colleges.

Voting will be held for 43 seats, out of a total of 81, in the first phase on November 13. The second and final phase of voting will be held on November 20. The results will be out on November 23.
