Kanguva, starring Suriya, Disha Patani, and Bobby Deol was supposed to release on October 10. However, the film’s release was postponed to November 14 and people speculated that it was done to avoid clashing with Rajinikanth and Vettaiyan ka -Amitabh Bachchan. The media recently told him to postpone his Rajinikanth film but not Shiva Rajkumar’s Kannada film Bhairathi Ranagal, which will hit the theaters on November 15.
At the press conference for the promotion of his film Kanguva, the media highlighted that Suriya has postponed Kanguva for Vettaiyan but is now ‘ready’ to release a film with Bhairathi Ranagal. “Feel like a normal movie?” they asked.
But, Suriya handled the situation calmly and said that the clash was ‘unintentional’ and he respects Shiva. He said, “The film is being released in as many languages as possible, and everyone is hoping for a great day. So, it’s not the intention, I love Shivanna. Every festival, we have 10-12 films released. We had Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 for Diwali, and both collected ₹100 crore. Why do you think people will watch only one movie or one will overshadow the other?”

The journalist then said that in that case, the film could not be released on its first day and clashed with Vettaiyan. Suriya opined that there were ‘many factors’ that led to the postponement of its release. “The 3D version was not ready, still, the censor verification is happening. We also had some post-production work. We had many reasons to change the date,” he said.
When it is shown that Kanguva is getting a good number of screens in Karnataka, Shiva’s film can get the same treatment in Tamil Nadu. “Of course I am not part of the distribution circle. However, if someone has a meeting and says, we can do something together, I will go anytime,” he replied.
The actor went on to say, “If a conversation like this happens, I will go anytime to talk to my distributors and use whatever power I have. I will call anyone and knock on any door to make it happen. But marketing and distribution are two different worlds … but I will do whatever I can to help Shivanna. “
