“I realized when I was traveling to New York City to run the New York City Marathon, that I never told you the real reason I signed up,” said Matt, 28, in a video posted on TikTok on Saturday, November 2. While trying to travel to New Zealand, I met a 70-year-old man who told me that he is training for a triathlon.”
Matt noted that the man said his training began as a way to “spend time with his two older sons” who were also competing in triathlons. However, Matt remembers the man saying that his exercise “slowly turned into a way for him to show himself what he could do at any age.”
“Throughout our lives, we face many different challenges. But it is the perseverance in these challenges that shows us who we are,” said Matt. “This year has not been easy for me, but by overcoming a challenge like the New York City marathon, I have been given the impetus to go beyond that strength in other aspects of my life.”

He concluded by saying, “So here’s to doing the hard stuff and getting it done quickly. Oh, wait, that came out bad.” Matt captioned the clip, “Let’s do this thang.”
Matt found support from Jenn, 26, in the comments section of the upload, who wrote, “So proud of you.” He responded with a heart hands emoji.

Matt went on to finish the race on Sunday, November 3, in 3 hours, 50 minutes and 44 seconds.
Matt and Jenn fell in love and moved out after their first relationship began in 2020, four years before he was announced as the 21st season of The Bachelorette. During Jenn’s time on the ABC reality series, Matt went to New Zealand to try to win her over.

In their first conversation, Matt surprised Jenn by dropping the L word and extending an invitation to a cocktail party where he explained his feelings.
“[When] we started really experimenting, we were very different people. We weren’t the adults we are today,” he told Jenn in August’s episode. “And I feel like as we grow into more adults over time, we’ve just found this relationship grow stronger, and I hope you realize how much you mean to me. I’m not ready to give it up yet.”

In the end, Jenn sent Matt packing and broke the news of his departure to the remaining fans before leaving the show.
“I wanted to take a second to let you know that I came here of my own free will, but he informed me of his future in this room,” he said. “He feels confident that you can give something that I can’t, and I’m here to apologize, I’m not here to take away anything you’ve experienced. I wish you luck. I wish him the best.”
Although the viewers did not see Matt again, he said that he appeared in the show Men Say Everything episode. “When they made me come Men Say Everything, redo everything, to cut every part…,” Matt wrote on TikTok in August, alongside his selfie in a suit. “Release the tapes for fun,” he teased in the caption.
Jenn finally finished the program she was engaged to Devin Straderbut the couple called it quits before the After the Final rose episode in September. Jenn said at the time that Devin, 28, “regretted” the marriage and was “examined.”
Days later, Devin released a 13-minute video describing himself and hundreds of text messages between him and Jenn. He apologized hours later for uploading “sensitive information” on social media.
Jenn, on the other hand, continued to compete in season 33 of Dancing with the Starswhere he was a partner Sasha Farber. Rumors of love have been spreading about him and Sasha, 40, Jenn’s brother even hinted at their relationship with a funny comment. After Jenn shared an Instagram photo on Sunday of her time DWTS and Sasha, James he wrote, “When is the wedding rehearsal? 🤔.”
