Kerala: Four railway contract workers killed after train hits them in Palakkad – Kerala News

Four contract workers employed by the Railways died after being hit by a train near Shornur in Kerala’s Palakkad district on Saturday.

The incident took place around 03:00 when the Thiruvananthapuram-bound Kerala Express hit the health workers while they were clearing garbage. The dead include two men and two women.

“It is possible that the workers did not see the approaching train, which led to the accident, but the investigation is still ongoing,” said an officer of the Shornur Railway Police.

Three bodies were recovered from the scene, and a search operation was launched for the fourth, which is suspected to have fallen into the nearby Bharathapuzha river.
