A BC Supreme Court judge ordered a cordon to be set up around one of the province’s largest Sikh temples this Saturday ahead of an expected clash between protesters and Indian embassy officials.
The Khalsa Diwan Society, which runs the Ross Street Gurdwara, said in court papers that it expects “violent protests” at two “ambassador camps” scheduled for November 2 and November 16 after the RCMP made allegations about Indian officials being involved in criminal activity. Canada.

Court documents say the camps give Indian-origin elders the opportunity to meet with embassy officials to complete administrative tasks, mostly related to their pensions, without going to the embassy in Vancouver.
Six Indian politicians were expelled from Canada last month for allegedly using their positions to collect information on Canadians from the pro-Khalistan independence movement and pass it on to criminal groups that targeted people directly.
The order prohibits protesting, blocking roads or intimidating anyone who tries to enter the area within 50 meters of the roads surrounding the temple.
