The national capital was engulfed in smoke the day after Diwali celebrations in the city as the air quality worsened on Friday morning. Delhi recorded an AQI of 361 today at 7 am, a significant increase from 328 yesterday.
This comes as the city registered the worst AQI on Diwali Day in the last three years. According to CPCB data, AQI in Delhi on Diwali day in 2023 was 218, in 2022 it was 312, in 2021 it was 382, ​​in 2020 it was 414, in 2019 it was 337, in 2018 it was 281, in 2016 it was 2017 and it was 2016. 431.

According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, several places in the city recorded AQI above 380 while the air quality crossed 390 and was close to 400 in many places. RK Puram saw an AQI of 398.
