Jordana Brewster Relates to the Fertility Struggle of The Doors Actress

Just as house hunting sounds fruitless, they find themselves gifted the home of their dreams from mysteriously wealthy landlord Emmett (Laurence Fishburne) who offers only one caveat: they will never open the basement door.

“Sometimes you have to do chemistry which can be difficult. Luckily, Scott and I got it over with right away,” Brewster recalled. “He’s smart and charming and a great actor. The most important thing is that we both work hard as we have been in the business since our 20s.”

Brewster joked that the “playful but strong” Sera and John also came easily to him and Speedman because of their “competitive” nature. “We teased us a lot,” he admitted. “John and Sera talk to each other about their stories, and so do we.”

Brewster’s connection to Sera deepened in various ways. From being a “mama bear” to the love she has for her husband, Mason Morfit – married him in 2022 – the Fast and Furious The star felt a connection with Sera on a low level. “I understand his sense of honesty and fairness,” Brewster said of the character. “I also relate to taking drastic measures to correct the past.”

“Our director, Vaughn, is a British genius. After taking it all in, he exclaimed, ‘Fools! Amazing! The pitch is perfect!’ I loved his many endless speeches,” he laughed, adding that he and Speedman often “competed to see who would get the most elaborate compliment.”

Brewster also found his own ways to shake up the film’s dark elements during breaks in his filming. “Running in the morning. Or a tequila night,” he said Us. “[That] it helped me clean up Sera.”

Mobile Department will be available in select theaters and on demand on Friday, November 1.
