A bag containing “onion bombs” and other explosives exploded after falling on the road, killing the passenger on the spot, a police official told PTI based on preliminary investigations.
The pillion passenger and two other bystanders sustained injuries and were taken to hospital.
According to the police, the impact of the explosion was so great that the legs and other parts of the body of the one who was riding two wheels were amputated.
CCTV images broadcast by television channels are said to show the explosion and some people fleeing and dust covering the area.
