Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday celebrated Diwali with Indian troops deployed along the India-Pakistan border in Gujarat’s Kachchh.
During his visit to Kachchh, PM Modi was seen handing out sweets to Indian soldiers as he celebrated the lighting festival with dogs at Lucky Nala near Sir Creek.
Lucky Nala is part of the Sir Creek river channel. It is the first border area of ​​the stream where there is a wetland area where carrying out patrolling activities is a big challenge.
The area is guarded by the Border Security Force (BSF). This is the place where drug smugglers and terrorists from Pakistan often try to enter India.
However, the alert BSF managed to foil their evil designs every time.
Prime Minister Modi praised the BSF troops for ensuring that India’s border remains safe and secure despite difficulties, sources said.
The Prime Minister asked the soldiers about the changes they have seen in their situation, tried to find out about the problems they are facing and what changes are needed to make their work easier, the sources added.
PM Modi also inspected the river area nearby, stayed there for about an hour before leaving for Bhuj.
Sir Creek is a 96 km long border between India and Pakistan, which has been disputed for decades. The Crocodile Commandos of the BSF keep vigil along the border to prevent external threats to India.
