Fans of raunchy adult comics may remember seeing trailers for the film It goes astray last year, featuring a host of popular talents lending their voices to a group of foul-mouthed dogs. The film, which looks like something you might throw at your kids at first glance, offers an off-the-wall joyride filled with lots of cursing, badass K-9s, and an impressive array of voice talent.
However It goes astray failed to make a big splash in theaters, as is the case with the R-rated comedy, the film found a new audience streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Stray Dogs
For those who missed this one at the time of release, It goes astray lives a Border Terrier dog named Reggie, abandoned by his terrible owner, Doug. Despite suffering years of abuse at the hands of Doug, Reggie has a cheerful and carefree attitude towards life, and fails to realize at first that he is not playing some kind of long game of search and recovery. Things take a turn for the dog when he meets a group of lifelong misfits by the names of Bug, Maggie, and Hunter.
After a few nights on the road, Reggie begins to adjust to the harsh realities of the real world, and the abuse he receives from his obnoxious owner. This realization makes him resentful, but it never dampens his spirits, as Reggie hatches a strange revenge plot by following Doug, and biting his private parts. The Strays are very disturbed by the plan at first, though they eventually agree in spirit, and accompany Reggie on his harrowing journey back to the suburbs to find his evil owner.
Bonkers Ride
I will not anoint it, It goes astray it’s one of the weirdest movies I’ve ever seen in my life. It offers narrative commentary on abusive relationships, in the same vein as 2016. Sausage Party provides an explanation for organized religion. It’s also unnecessarily violent, full of foul language and sexual references, and funny, if you can’t get past the overall vibe this aspect of the film might work better as a film. It’s SNL short.
It goes astray they first came together after comedy stars Phil Lord and Christopher Miller agreed to finance the project through their first deal with Universal Pictures. American Vandal series creator Dan Perrault wrote the screenplay for the project, while filmmaker Josh Greenbaum is joining to direct. Although Strays features an array of comedic talent behind the camera, its pre-release selling point was its massive voice talent, including Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx, Isla Fisher, Randall Park, Rob Riggle, SofÃa Vergara, Josh Gad, and Will. Forte as Doug.
Streaming on Amazon Prime
Although I can definitely say that It goes astray it’s not for everyone, you can gauge whether you’ll enjoy it or not by watching the trailer. Critics seem to have mixed opinions about it, earning an average Rotten Tomatoes score of 53 percent.
Personally, I can’t say that I would have spent the money to catch this one in a theater, even though it is a comedy that can be used to kill a quick 90 minutes. They like to go out It goes astray today you can be sure to stream the movie on Amazon Prime Video.
