The attorney general in Philadelphia filed a lawsuit Monday to block Elon Musk and his pro-Trump political committee from continuing their daily $1 million donation to registered state voters, describing the contest as an “illegal lottery” intended to sway party results. presidential election.
The lawsuit alleges that Musk and his pro-Trump political committee, America PAC, “deceived citizens of Philadelphia” and others in the Commonwealth to “give up their personal information and take a political oath for a chance to win $1 million. ,” through its daily donation program.

The lawsuit also accuses Musk and his PAC of violating consumer protection laws, citing “false” and “misleading” statements Musk made about the state of the competition.
Musk has billed $1 million daily as an effort to increase voter registration in all seven major states, and says daily winners are chosen “randomly.”
But the district attorney’s office disputed this, saying: “Although Musk said the selection of the winner was ‘random,’ that appears to be false because many of the winners chosen are people who showed up at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally.”
Krasner’s request to suspend Musk’s offer was made Friday morning in Philadelphia.
Until then, Musk may be free to continue his sweepstakes.
