In a statement to Us on April 8, lawyer Aaron Dyer warned the public to meet the allegations with skepticism, pointing the finger at the accuser’s lawyer, Tyrone Blackburnwho filed the case alongside Diggs.
“We have never seen what this woman said but I am sure we can expect the same lies… as we have seen Rodney Jones‘ case – which has yet to be implemented,” Dyer said in a statement Us at that time.
“[Blackburn] he was recently slapped by a New York judge earlier this week for his ‘behavior pattern’ which was ‘inappropriate. [filing] federal court cases to attract media attention, embarrass defendants with painful allegations and pressure defendants to settle quickly,’” Dyer continued.
Dyer was talking about the court making the request Judge Denise Cote that suggested Blackburn had a history of filing lawsuits intended to attract media attention to pressure high-profile defendants to settle quickly.
Blackburn has faced similar allegations in the past, including from lawyers representing him Nicki Minaj, T.I again Tameka “Tiny” Harriswho accused him of taking part in a “deplorable shakedown campaign” to take out residences from musicians.
“Two days after being referred to the disciplinary committee in the Southern District of New York, it is gratifying that he chose to open a new case in California,” Dyer’s statement concluded. “This is another page from that playbook, as we read about this case the same way anyone hears about Mr. Blackburn: to the press.”
Nkosi remained silent on this issue on March 29, days after he was arrested and released by law enforcement. He posted a message on Snapchat that read, “Stop with 🧢,” using the common word “cap,” which means lying.
