Throughout its six-season run, Community they had a bunch of great cameos, from Betty White to John Goodman and even LeVar Burton. Ever since the movie was announced, fans of the popular sitcom have been speculating about who might re-appear in the film. Now we know that there is hope for Star Trek’s LeVar Burton to appear as him again, or at least, we know that he is willing.
TV Line asked the 67-year-old actor if he would appear Society: The Movie during the promotion of his upcoming game, Small Pursuit. Neither denying nor confirming anything, LeVar Burton replied, “Ask Dan Harmon.” While we can’t get too excited about this vague answer, it sounds like Burton would be willing to return to Greendale again if the series creator can find him.
LeVar Burton just stepped in Community several times, the first being in the Season 2 episode, “Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking.” In the episode, a dying Pierce leaves his study group friends with various gifts. For Troy, a wealthy CEO offers his friend a real-life encounter with his favorite person, LeVar Burton.
Surprised and completely unprepared, Troy spends the reunion hiding in the bathroom and screaming the theme song to LeVar Burton’s hit ’80s show, Reading Rainbow. Three seasons later, Troy gets another chance when Pierce gives his friend another chance at life.
After Pierce finally dies (for real this time), the study group is given various items from his estate. In this case, Troy is given all of Pierce’s shares in Hawthorne Wipes on the condition that he first goes around the world. In the last episode of Season 5 of Troy Communityhe accepts the job and says goodbye before boarding the Childish Tycoon, where he learns that he will be sailing around the world with LeVar Burton.
What happened to Troy and LeVar?
One of the more exciting possibilities regarding LeVar Burton’s possible return to the Community movie that means we can finally get an answer to one of the biggest mysteries of the series. After Donald Glover’s Troy left Greendale, we only got one blink-and-you’ll-miss-it update about the character on his globetrotting journey.
A later news report stated that the Pirates had captured Troy and LeVar Burton, but nothing more was said about this strange story in the game. During a TV Line interview, the Star Trek actor even touched on this a bit, saying “They’re in Childish, like pirates, so… we might need an update.”
Hopefully, we get that update and a surprise from LeVar Burton there Community the movie is coming out. #sixseasonsandamovie fans had their hopes and dreams confirmed back in 2022 when Pigogo officially announced that the movie was happening.
Currently, most of the main cast is set to return, and filming is expected to begin in 2025. Aside from the main cast, no other actors have been signed on to appear, but we’re sure we’ll see at least some. familiar faces, and hopefully, one of them is LeVar Burton’s.
