Mini was rescued after a BBC Eye investigation that exposed a global monkey torture ring.
He was taken from the forest after his mother was killed. Her owner abused her and filmed her with cruel clients mainly in the US and UK, before she was rescued.
After two years of rehabilitation at a sanctuary run by the Jakarta Animal Aid Network, Mini and his adoptive family were deemed ready to return to the wild.
BBC World Service reporter Rebecca Henschke – who spent more than a year tracking down Mini and his abusers – marched for his release.
