President Draupadi Murmu will be on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh from Friday (October 25, 2024), where he will attend the convocation ceremonies of four higher education institutions.
Security has been tightened in Raipur and Durg districts and traffic will be diverted to other areas in these districts on Friday and Saturday (October 25 and 26).
“President Murmu will arrive at the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur on Friday (October 25, 2024) morning and will proceed to the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), where he will be the Chief Guest at its second convocation ceremony,” said a Government official in Raipur.
He will then proceed to the Raj Bhavan.
“Later, Ms. Murmu will host the 14th convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur as its chief guest,” the official said.
“The President will also visit the ‘Purkhauti Muktangan’ (tribal museum) in Nava Raipur, where he will interact with the local tribes,” he said.
On Saturday (October 26, 2024) morning, Mrs. Murmu will offer prayers at the Jagannath temple in Gayatri Nagar here and proceed to Bhilai (Durg district) for various events.
“He will be the chief guest at the fourth conference of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai,” the official said.
“Ms. Murmu will later return to the country’s capital and attend the third convocation of Pt. Deendayal Memorial Health Science and Ayush University Nava Raipur as the chief guest,” he added.
