Playing with a dog turned fatal for a 22-year-old man who slipped from the third floor of a hotel building in Chandanagar, Hyderabad late Sunday (October 20, 2024).
The deceased, identified as Uday Kumar, was a painter by profession and a resident of Jyothi Nagar, a neighborhood in RC Puram. The incident took place at VV Pride Hotel in Annapurna Enclave of Chandanagar on the night of October 20 and 21, where he had attended a birthday party with a group of friends.
According to the police, the man went out at 12.30 in the morning where he saw the dog and started playing with it. “Uday ran after the dog and crossed the reception area and lost control of his speed. He could not turn around and fell from the window on the third floor. He died on the spot,” said the police. The incident was captured on the hotel’s CCTV cameras where Uday is seen running through the corridor before crashing through the window. After all, the hotel has a rating of 3.4 and the reviews on Google are not pleasant as most of them are full of complaints.
The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem and his family in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh was informed about the incident. The Chandanagar police have booked a case under Section 194 (suspicious death) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and started an investigation.
