A 35-year-old man was killed and two others were injured in a shootout in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, police said on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Deepak alias Patrakar.
Jahangirpuri police station received information from Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital about a man who came with multiple bullet wounds, who was declared dead, said a police official. Later, the other two injured, Narendra and Suraj, were admitted to the hospital, the officer said.
DCP Abhishek Dhania said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident took place near a park at 900 Wali Gali in Jahangirpuri’s D Block, where Deepak, his brother and his colleagues had an argument with Narendra and Suraj… Both sides opened fire.”
During the fight, Deepak was shot four times in the neck, back and both legs, Narendra and Suraj, on the other hand, were injured in the back and leg, respectively, said the police officer.
“Investigation into the matter has been initiated after registering a MULOMO… Both Narendra and Suraj have been arrested and we are looking for others involved in the shooting,” said the DCP.
